An accident slowed traffic on the West Shore Bypass in Berks County for much of Tuesday morning's rush hour.
The crash happened at 6:38 a.m. on the outer loop of the bypass -- Route 422 East -- about 400 feet before the Interstate 176 interchange.
Police said they believe a car had just changed lanes when it was struck from behind by a large truck.
The driver of the car was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain, police said.
One eastbound lane of the bypass remained open, but traffic backed up beyond the Lancaster Avenue interchange in Reading until the scene could be cleared shortly after 10 a.m.
The accident remains under investigation.
