READING, Pa. -

A man was arrested in Reading after police say he slammed a car into a convenience store multiple times early Wednesday.

Twenty-four-year-old Alexander Rivera of the 900 block of N. Third Street, Reading, was arrested after the incident at the Citgo at 245 Buttonwood Street.

Police say he crawled inside the store and tried opening the register but crawled back outside. He was apprehended by police after a short chase.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m.

Police said the car he used had been stolen from the 600 block of Lincoln St.

The store sold a winning ticket for Friday's $1.3 million Cash Five drawing.
