Police in Berks County are investigating a home invasion robbery that didn't appear to be random.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at a house in the 900 block of Bedford Avenue in Cumru Township.

A man, armed with a handgun, kicked in the back doors of the home, asking for the male resident of the home by name, police said. The resident told police he didn't know the identity of the robber.

The robber got some cash and took off in a vehicle waiting for him outside, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 180-190 pounds. He had long dark curly hair pulled into a ponytail, and scruffy facial hair.

He was wearing large round tinted glasses, a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and work boots.

The driver of the getaway vehicle is described as a white woman with light colored h air.

The vehicle is described as an older model dark green minivan or station wagon, with a boxy or 'squared-off' body design.
