BOYERTOWN, Pa. -

Dozens of dogs and their owners took over a local park in Berks County Saturday.

Barctoberfest is touted as the biggest dog party of the year.

For four hours, canines and their humans got the chance to check out stands at the Boyertown Community Park at 417 S. Madison St. in Boyertown.

There was also live music, contests, treats and food!

They also held a joint K-9 and human blood drive.

The event was sponsored by BARCO: Boyertown Area Responsible Canine Owners. It's a group working towards the creation of an off-leash dog park in Boyertown.

All of the money raised at Barctoberfest will go to building the dog park.
