LOWER ALSACE TWP., Pa. -

Berks County is set to take control of the Angora Fruit Farm in Lower Alsace Township.

The county said it should be in control of the area by December.

The commissioners approved buying the land in August for more than $400,000.

The farm will be part of Antietam Lake Park.

Apples, pears and cherries have been grown there over the years. The county said the orchards will remain, for now.
