Cambridge-Lee cuts ribbon on new expansion in Berks
A copper tubing manufacturer and distributor with roots in Berks County is celebrating.
Cambridge-Lee Industries has completed work on a nearly 200,000 square-foot plant in Ontelaunee Township.
It's estimated that the expansion will bring about 200 jobs to Berks County.
Officials said they had offers to relocate to other countries, but support from our area made them decide to stay.
"We are particularly grateful to the country representatives, as well to the local community for receiving us and a place for our company that is a source of pride for the entire community of Reading," said Carlos Peralta.
Company officials broke ground for the expansion in March 2012.
