Crews have managed to pull a stolen car from the Schuylkill River in Reading.
The car was found submerged in the water off the south shore of the river, near Baer Park, around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police on the scene called in the Reading Fire Department's scuba divers to check the car for any occupants.
The divers then hooked up the car to a tow truck, but they had some trouble pulling the car from the water. They were finally successful just before 1:30 p.m.
The car was stolen from the 1000 block of Amity Street in Reading around 6:45 a.m. Thursday, police said.
