Charges filed in drive-by BB gun shooting of boy, 13, in Laureldale

LAURELDALE, Pa. -

A Reading man has been charged in the drive-by BB gun shooting of a 13-year-old boy.

Domonique Carter-Pech faces charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering another person and possessing an instrument of a crime, said Ofc. Robert Atkins, Laureldale Police Dept.

The victim was shot just above one of his eyes Monday afternoon at Margaret and Montclaire streets in Laureldale, police said.

Jeff Burkhart a former U.S. Army soldier, rushed to the boy's side and used his training to give the teen first aid until paramedics arrived.

The boy was rushed to Reading Hospital, but police said they expect him to recover.

A nearby vehicle was also hit.
