Chick-fil-A, Exeter HS class team up for tornado victim benefit
Chick-fil-A in Exeter Twp., Berks Co., and the Exeter High School fashion class are teaming up to help victims of the devastating tornado in Oklahoma.
The restaurant at 4675 Perkiomen Ave. is accepting donations of new or gently used clothing, cash and gift cards through 7 p.m. Tuesday. The collected items will then be shipped to Oklahoma for storm victims in need.
Customers with extremely large donations (more than two bags or boxes of clothing) are asked to consider having a yard sale and donating the proceeds to an Oklahoma charity because the items will be difficult and expensive to ship.
The Exeter Chick-fil-A has also posted a flyer on its Facebook page. Customers who present the flyer when they place their order between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday will have 15 percent of their bill donated by the restaurant to tornado relief efforts.
A $1 donation will also give customers the chance to win free Chick-fil-A food for a future visit, organizers said.
