A fallen firefighter from Berks County is among 10 from Pennsylvania and 81 from across the country who will be honored during the 32 annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial service next month.

Deputy Chief Corey A. Baker, of the Kenhorst Volunteer Fire Company, became ill following his response to an automatic fire alarm on June 27, 2009, officials said. He died on July 6, 2009.

Baker, 42, of Reading, left behind a wife and two sons.

Baker's name will be added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial on the grounds of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md. The service will be held there on Sun., Oct. 6.
