The spirit of giving was alive and well at the 11th annual Angela Hohl Memorial Blood Drive at Daniel Boone High School on Tuesday.
Hohl was a senior at the school in 2003 when she was diagnosed with leukemia. She lost her battle with the disease just 26 days later.
Daniel Boone students and other interested donors have been "rolling up their sleeves" in her honor ever since.
"It's grown every year. The first year, we had 150. Last year, we had 496 people show up. Every year, we've seen consistent growth for the drive," said Harvey Hohl.
There are four blood drives every year, with the December drive being the largest.
