KUTZTOWN, Pa. -

Kutztown University President F. Javier Cevallos has officially been named the 16th president of Framingham State University in Massachusetts.

The announcement was made Tuesday as Kutztown began its spring semester.

"While it is going to be difficult to leave Kutztown, I am excited about the prospect of the position at Framingham," Cevallos said in a letter to the Kutztown University community Tuesday.

Cevallos, who became Kutztown's president in 2003, will keep his job with the university until June and start as Framingham's president in July, allowing him to remain at K.U. for the entire spring semester, which began Tuesday.

As for Cevallos' successor, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, which oversees Kutztown, has not yet announced any information about the selection process.
