READING, Pa. -

Firefighters prevented a row of homes in Reading from going up in flames Monday.

Emergency dispatchers reported receiving multiple 911 calls from the 1000 block of Pike Street shortly before 11:30 a.m. The callers reported flames shooting from the windows of a home in the block.

The first firefighters on the scene reported a "working fire" in a 2-1/2 story row home. The firefighters managed to bring the fire under control quickly, limiting the damage to the primary home and the one next door.

A search of the home found nobody inside, and there were no immediate reports of injuries.
