READING, Pa. -

FirstEnergy Stadium is ready to welcome a big crowd, not for baseball, but for a Star Spangled Spectacular.

The Fightin Phils are in Trenton, so the Reading Symphony Orchestra will take to the field for a patriotic performance Thursday night.

The Independence Day concert will feature a number of familiar tunes, along with solos by Christopher Collins Lee, Tammy Black and Jeremy Galyon.

The concert will be followed by fireworks over the ballpark.

Admission is free. The gates will open at 6 p.m.; the concert will begin at 8 p.m.

Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item or canned good as part of the RSO’s fight against hunger with the Orchestras Feeding America campaign. All food donated will go to support the Greater Berks Food Bank.
