First-ever 'turkey run' burns calories before Thanksgiving feast
Before sitting down for their Thanksgiving dinner, about 600 runners burned calories in the first-ever "Flippin' Fun 5-K Turkey Run."
The race, organized by the Berks Gymnastics Team, started at the Wyomissing Quarry, behind the Wawa on Museum Road.
Runners seemed to enjoy their time on the trail.
"There were a lot of fun costumes and everyone seemed like they were having a lot of fun. There was someone wearing a tutu. Lots of tutus," said one runner.
Runners said the best perk about a Thanksgiving race is being able to enjoy even more pie after dinner.
