Francis Acosta defeats Vincent Rosato for first full term as Reading City Council president
Francis Acosta has been elected to serve his first full term as president of Reading City Council.
Acosta, a Democrat, easily defeated his Republican opponent, Vincent Rosato, by garnering 70 percent of the vote in Tuesday's general election, with 100 percent of the city's precincts reporting their results.
Acosta became Reading's first Latino council president in 2012 when then-president Vaughn Spencer resigned to become mayor.
