Don't have time to head down the shore this summer? No worries. Hamburg is planning to match all the fun you'd find at the beach.

The borough in northern Berks County will present its annual "Summer in the City Beach Night" at 4th and Pine streets on July 12 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

The event, organizers said, will be fun for all ages, with entertainment, dancing, carnival-style games, contests and boardwalk-style food on tap for the evening.

The 2nd annual Lucky Duck Race down Mill Creek is also scheduled for 7:45 p.m. A $5 donation will get contestants the rubber duck of their choice. The first duck over the finish line will win the contestant half of the contest proceeds. The other half will benefit the Our Town Foundation, host of the night's festivities.

Admission to the event is free. For more information, you can call the Our Town Foundation at 610-562-3106 or email

The rain date is July 19.
