Marcus Akiem Ricketts, of Boyertown, charged by feds in bank robbery spree
Federal authorities have charged a Berks County man in connection with a rash of bank robberies in three counties.
An indictment filed Friday alleges that Marcus Akiem Ricketts, 36, of Boyertown, robbed the following banks:
- Sovereign Bank, 258 East High St., in Pottstown, Montgomery Co., on June 8, 2010;
- Citizens Bank at 209 Lancaster Ave. in Devon, Chester Co., on Jan. 24, 2012;
- First Niagara Bank, 502 State Ave., Emmaus, Lehigh Co., on April 12, 2012;
- and M&T Bank, formerly located at 760 North Pottstown Pike, in Exton, Chester Co., on July 2, 2012.
If convicted of all charges, Ricketts could be sentenced to life in prison, with a mandatory minimum of 82 years, five years of supervised release and a $2 million fine, officials said.
