Five people were injured in an accident that closed a stretch of New Holland Road in Berks County for about 90 minutes Tuesday afternoon.

The crash was reported shortly after 3 p.m. at New Holland and Maple Grove roads in Cumru Township.

Multiple ambulances, including three from Reading, were dispatched to the scene to transport the injured victims to area hospitals.

Five people, including a child, suffered what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

New Holland Road reopened shortly before 4:30 p.m.
