Folks in one Reading neighborhood decided to take snow removal into their own hands.
69 News was there as they shoveled leftover ice and snow from the 1100 block of Church Street.
Residents had ice picks and shovels to clean their street.
They say they got tired of waiting for the city plow to come through again.
"It's a shame that we as residents have to shovel this block out by hand because the city neglects to help us," said one resident.
"This is a perfect example of people coming together making lemonade out of lemons on how to make lemonade out of lemons," said another.
Ralph Johnson of Reading's Public Works department says he understands the neighbors' frustration.
He says Church Street is tough to plow, but plows do go through that street.
He says snow from cleaned off cars sometimes fill the street and it gets packed down.
