Patient First centers offer free Halloween candy X-rays, safety blinkers for trick-or-treaters
Centers located in Wyomissing, Berks Co., and in Allentown
Patient First is putting safety first for young trick-or-treaters this Halloween.
The company's' neighborhood medical centers will offer free digital X-ray imaging of Halloween candy between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Halloween, Thurs., Oct. 31.
Patient First has locations on Paper Mill Road in Wyomissing, Berks Co., and on Tilghman Street in Allentown,
The X-rays, officials said, will help provide parents peace of mind about the treats their children are given by possibly detecting objects like, glass, metal or plastic. They caution, however, that parents still need to inspect the candy since some foreign materials may not appear in an X-ray.
Patient First is also providing a list of trick-or-treating safety tips and a free safety strobe light/reflector that can be attached to a child's Halloween costume for increased visibility. The light, available while supplies last, can be picked up at the front desk of any Patient First center.
