SPRING TWP., Pa. -

Penn State is adding to its growing list of degrees the university offers students who attend the Berks campus.

Starting with the fall semester, the campus in Spring Township will offer both bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in criminal justice, the university announced Wednesday.

PSU's criminal justice program provides a strong foundation for students seeking careers in corrections, parole and probation, law enforcement and the court system, officials said.

The bachelor of arts degree includes skill in a foreign language and is geared toward students whose career direction requires a more broad-based understanding of American and international culture.

The bachelor of science degree allows students to develop structured skills designed to meet their specific career goals.

PSU, in its announcement, cited U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that criminal justice jobs will grow at an annual rate of 10 percent through 2018.
