LOWER POTTSGROVE TWP., Pa. -

The new Armand Hammer Boulevard bridge over Route 422 near Pottstown is set to open to two travel lanes Friday morning, PennDOT announced Thursday.

"We are extremely pleased to fully open Armand Hammer Boulevard as we move forward on this project to rebuild 1.6 miles of Route 422 in Montgomery and Chester counties," said Lester C. Toaso, PennDOT district executive.

Crews worked over the past 16 months to replacing the old bridge in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.

The rebuilding is part of PennDOT's $73.3 million project to rebuild Route 422 between the Sanatoga interchange in Lower Pottsgrove and Route 724 in North Coventry Township, Chester County.
