SPRING TWP., Pa. -

What does the future hold for cities like Reading?

That question brought Pennsylvania lawmakers to Berks County on Friday.

The state House Urban Affairs and the Senate Urban Affairs and Housing committees hosted a joint hearing in Spring Township.

It's the last in a series of hearings focusing on the economic conditions of Pennsylvania's cities. The goal is to find ways for cities to prosper.

Topics of discussion included pension and property tax reform and new sources of revenue.

Officials with the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce and Berks Economic Partnership testified before lawmakers.
