BERN TWP., Pa. -

The manager of a convenience store in Berks County stands accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the store's automated teller machine.

Michelle Lynne Boardman served as manager of the Top Star Express store on Route 183, near the Route 222 interchange, in Bern Township, and was responsible for replenishing the store's ATM, police said.

Throughout July, Boardman falsified computer withdrawal records and took $6,360 that was purported to have been put into the ATM, according to court documents.

Boardman, 33, of Reading, was arrested Friday on charges of theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and tampering with records or identification. She was freed on $5,000 unsecured bail.
