With the announcement Wednesday of an affiliation between the Reading Royals and the Philadelphia Flyers came word of some money-saving deals for fans during the upcoming season and beyond.
The Royals introduced a program that will allow season ticket holders to "lock in" their 2014-15 ticket prices through the 2017-18 season. All one has to do to take advantage of the offer, team officials said, is to buy or renew a season ticket and establish an appropriate payment plan for the upcoming season by Aug. 1.
After that, the season ticket just needs to be renewed and a payment plan established by June 1 prior to each of the three successive seasons, officials said.
Fans who have already purchased or renewed their season tickets for the 2014-15 season are already locked in to the deal.
Also, fans who attend any one of the eight Sunday home games or the annual Martin Luther King Jr. holiday matinee game will experience significant savings, team officials said.
Parking for all nine games will be free in the garages adjacent to the Santander Arena, courtesy of the Reading Parking Authority, and hot dogs, popcorn, nachos and soda will be sold for just $1 each.
Game time for each Sunday game this season will be 5:05 p.m.; the puck will drop on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 1:05 p.m.
