READING, Pa. -

The Santander Performing Arts Center in Reading is one of the country's "top stops," according to "Venues Today," a trade publication that serves management, owners and suppliers to music, sports and meeting venues.

The SPAC, managed by SMG, ranked 11th on the publication's list of Top Stops of venues with seating capacities of 2,000 or fewer.

The rankings, announced in the publication's July edition, are based on concert and event gross ticket sales between Oct. 16, 2013, and May 15, 2014, as reported to "Venues Today."

During that time, the 19th century theater on North Sixth Street hosted a variety of shows and events, including the Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, Jerry Seinfeld, Alice in Chains, Drew Cary, Ina Garten and Bryan Adams.

"With SMG booking leading the way, we are able to be ranked with theaters like the State Theatre, New Brunswick, New Jersey; the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center, Midland, Texas; and the Showroom at The Flamingo, Las Vegas.," said David Farrar, general manager.

The SPAC has a number of shows already on the schedule for the fall season, including the children's music group The Wiggles on Oct. 2, contemporary Christian musician Jeremy Camp on and "The Come Alive Tour" on Oct. 4, and comedian Brian Regan on Oct. 5.

The Reading Symphony Orchestra will also launch its 102nd season on Oct. 11.

SMG also manages the Santander Arena on Penn Street.
