The killing of a man in Providence, R.I., has led authorities to a home more than 300 miles away in Berks County.
One of two suspects in the homicide, Felix Anthony Olivares III, may be driving a vehicle registered to his stepmother, who lives in South Heidelberg Township, said Berks County District Attorney John Adams.
Authorities went to the home on Slater Drive on Monday in search of Olivares, but he wasn't there.
"He has not been spotted or seen in Berks County, however, authorities believe, because of his family connection, that he may be here. And if so, we want to assist law enforcement in Rhode Island, as we always would do, to locate this individual and assist in his apprehension," Adams said.
Olivares is described as a Hispanic man who stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 185 pounds. He may be driving a purple 2001 PT Cruiser, Adams said.
Anyone with information about Olivares' whereabouts can call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913.
"We are asking the public, if they have any knowledge of Felix Olivares's whereabouts, if they have any knowledge as to any vehicle he may be driving, to please contact the local police," said Adams.
Olivares and Kongvannark "Ricky" Maloney shot and killed a 20-year-old man inside a car in Providence on Friday afternoon, according to media reports.
Maloney also remains at large, and both men should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
