READING, Pa. -

The calendar will say December, but it will feel more like July when The Beach Boys return to Reading.

The hit band will bring its sounds of summer to the Sovereign Performing Arts Center on Dec. 13 at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale at the Sovereign Center box office at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The Beach Boys were last in Reading in 2000 when they performed a concert at FirstEnergy Stadium. It's was the band's 40th summer of touring.

Then-Mayor Joe Eppihimer proclaimed June 9 "Beach Boys Day" in Reading and Pa. Sen. Mike O'Pake and U.S. Rep Tim Holden were on hand to present the band with gifts of pretzels and beer.
