Truck vs. train in Fleetwood
FLEETWOOD, Pa. -

The driver of a tractor trailer cab escaped injury when his truck was hit by a freight train Wednesday morning.

The accident happened shortly after 10 a.m. at the South Richmond Street railroad crossing in Fleetwood, Berks Co., according to emergency dispatchers.

The front end of the truck was ripped off as the Norfolk Southern train continued rolling east down the tracks until it could stop.

The train, which suffered moderate damage to its front right side, blocked several crossings in the area for about two hours as authorities investigated the accident and Norfolk Southern crews cleared the train to continue on its route, police said.
