WALLACE TWP., Pa. -

A woman was killed and two others were injured in a crash that closed a busy stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike for several hours Wednesday.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. when a car struck the concrete median in the westbound lanes of the turnpike in Wallace Township, Chester County, between the Downingtown and Morgantown interchanges, state police said.

The car overturned several times, causing the two passengers to be ejected from the car.

One of them, Wanda Ledesma-Rivera, 42, of Columbia, Lancaster County, died at the scene. The other ejected passenger, Kristina Fisher, 25, of Reinholds, and the driver, Raquel Davila, 46, of Columbia, were transported to Reading Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, police said.

The westbound lanes between the Downingtown and Morgantown interchanges were closed for approximately six hours.
