READING, Pa. -

Work to rehabilitate one of the main gateways into Reading will begin this summer.

The Berks County Commissioners announced Thursday that repairs to the Buttonwood Street Bridge between Reading and West Reading should begin in July.

The bridge is more than 80-years-old. It will be closed for up to two years while repairs are made.

Drivers should expect heavier traffic on the Penn Street Bridge.
