Man accused of stealing insurance money heading to prison
A Berks County man who admitted to stealing money meant for his wife's dialysis treatment will be spending time behind bars.
Darwin Dieter of Kempton was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in prison and 6 months of house confinement.
Officials say Dieter took more than half a million dollars from his employer-provided medical insurance from December 2010 through March of 2011.
The money was meant for his wife's medical care but officials say Dieter kept the money for himself and spent some of it on expensive vehicles.
He's also been ordered to pay restitution to the insurance company.
