Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in downtown Reading.

The holdup happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fulton Bank in the 200 block of North 5th Street.

Initial reports from the scene were that the robber demanded money from a teller without showing a weapon. He was last seen heading north on 5th Street on foot.

The robber was described as a heavyset black man wearing a black winter jacket and blue jeans.
