Yampier Figueroa-Ramos charged in Reading stabbing
Police have arrested a man they stay is responsible for a stabbing Monday night in Reading.
Yampier Figueroa-Ramos, 35, of 1218 Muhlenberg Street was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and related charges.
He's accused of stabbing Edwin Gonzalez around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of South Ninth Street in Reading.
Police said Figueroa-Ramos ran away from police, and fled into a building at 1272 Muhlenberg Street before being taken into custody.
Figueroa-Ramos told police that Gonzalez used to be his landlord, who baited him into a fight . Gonzalez started the fight by hitting Figueroa-Ramos with a golf club first and yelling obscenities at him, Figueroa-Ramos told police.
Figueroa-Ramos was arrested a short time later and police say he admitted to stabbing Gonzalez because he was angry about Gonzalez's behavior toward his wife and daughter.
