Rescue crews have freed a man who was trapped atop a 25-foot crane in Berks County.
The call came in shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday from the Steelco company in the 600 block of Fritztown Road in Spring Township.
The man was making repairs to the crane inside a building when officials said his arm became trapped.
Emergency crews were dispatched for a "high-angle rescue." Firefighters backed one of their trucks inside the building and used a ladder to reach the trapped worker and bring him down on a stretcher.
The man was transported to a hospital, but officials on the scene did not know the extent of his injuries.
