Multi-alarm fire destroys garage, attached apartment

firefighters from 3 different counties were called to fight flames at a home in berks county. the fire broke out a little after 9:00 last night on shed road, near route 724, in union township. the fire went to 4 alarms, and crews from berks, chester and montgomery counties were called to respond.

A garage with an apartment attached on top has been destroyed by fire.

The fire broke out around  9:00 Sunday night in the unit block of Shed Road, near Route 724, in Union Township, Berks County.

The fire went to four alarms, and crews from several fire companies responded.

Officials said nobody was inside the garage or the apartment at the time of the fire and  no injuries were reported from the scene.

There is no word yet on how the fire started.
