The new leader of the Berks Community Health Center wants to focus on preventive care.
The new CEO met members of the community at the health center in Reading Wednesday morning.
The center helps people who need medical care but can't afford it.
"What we will do is do every aspect of health care through the primary care model and preventive care as well, which means we'll do wellness programs," said Mary Kargbo, CEO of Berks Community Health Center. "We are collaborating with some other organizations to provide services in the community."
The community health center opened in the 800 block of Penn Street in June.
