READING, Pa. -

Last month's bizarre hailstorm didn't cause enough damage to warrant a federal disaster declaration, officials said.

The county collected data about uninsured damage from municipal government agencies. The goal was to see if there was enough damage to qualify for special low interest loans to cover repair costs.

County officials said the storm damage reported is significant, but it doesn't meet the federal government's threshold.

The program is designed to help businesses that lose revenue or have major damage.
