A woman was kidnapped in downtown Reading, taken to a nearby park, and left naked, police said.
So far, police say they have arrested one of the suspects, Omar Otero.
The crime happened around 11:15 Monday morning, investigators said, near the intersection of Walnut and Reed Streets.
Three Hispanic males, including Otero, pulled up in a dark car, detectives said, and made their demands to the victim, a 30-year-old woman.
"A male confronted her about money that she owed him and told her that she needed to pay him," said Sgt. Donald Sheidy, Reading Police Dept.
Another man got out of the car, displayed a black and silver handgun and demanded the victim get in the vehicle, police said.
The men drove the victim to the area near Egleman's Park, near Hill and Angora Roads, detectives said.
"When they got up to the area near Egleman's Park, they told her to get out of the car, and left her there naked," said Sgt. Sheidy.
The kidnappers were trying to get back at the victim who possibly owed them money for drugs, police said.
"Apparently, she owed them money for some transaction, possibly a drug transaction that occurred two days prior," said Sgt. Sheidy.
A passerby who spotted the woman, called police, and then allowed her to wait in his car until authorities arrived.
There are still two men on the run, police said.
One of the alleged kidnappers is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, mid 20s, with a noticeable scar on his left cheek that almost connects with the corner of his mouth, said Sgt. Sheidy.
The other alleged kidnapper is described as a 17 or 18-year-old Hispanic male.
The kidnappers are facing a long list of charges including kidnapping, terroristic threats and theft, investigators said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the men involved in this crime are asked to call Crime Alert: Berks County.
The number is 877-373-9913.
