Police: Man, 30, dies after shooting at gun club
A man who was shot in the head at a gun club Sunday evening has now died, police said.
Michael Nieves passed away Monday morning at Reading Hospital. He was rushed there after being shot at the Leesport Gun Club in Ontelaunee Twp., Berks Co., said police, who were called to the club just after 5:30 p.m.
Nieves, 30, of Reading, and three other people were firing rifles, pistols and a shotgun when a 22-caliber pistol being handled by one man "went off at the wrong time," hitting him in the head, police said.
An autopsy on Nieves will be done Tuesday afternoon, the coroner said.
At this point, police said they are investigating the shooting as a self-inflicted accident, but nothing has been ruled out.
