A Reading man shot in the chest in his own home says he's one step closer to justice.

"It's different today. I don't feel as safe as I used to, I can tell you that," said Raymond Heister.

Heister was shot in the chest in late-November after several men broke into his home in the 500 block of S. 18th Street in Reading, police said.

Police arrested Jonathan Landron and Alexander Cruz-Cintron in connection with the crime Thursday evening.

Cruz-Cintron actually led police on a daring chase across several rooftops in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street, officials said.

After he was cornered, a fire truck had to be brought in to get everyone down off the roof.

Heister says he is grateful police finally collared some of the suspects.

"I think it's great. I think everybody tried to help wherever they could, and I think it's great they got them, maybe they'll pay their dues now," said Heister.

Raymond's wife, Sarah, says her life has not been the same since the crime.

"I feel raped. They went through every part of my house," said Sarah.

Cintron and Landron were involved in an elaborate scheme to break into the victim's home to steal money and possibly marijuana, police said.

Others involved in the crime are still on the loose, said investigators.

But Heister's wife says, she, her husband, and their 200-pound Rottweiler named Zeus, are ready for anything.

"I'm ready," said Sarah. "Anybody who comes through the door, I'm going to blow their head off. Or my dog is going to get them."

Meanwhile, Raymond says he no longer feels safe in his own home.

"It's pretty devastating actually, you know. You feel safe in your own home until something like that happens," said Heister.

Authorities are still looking for several other people in connection with this crime.
