A new effort in Reading will let property owners pay back fines and fees without any penalties.

Mayor Vaughn Spencer unveiled the housing fee amnesty plan Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone who owes fines for things like quality of life violations can make payments from December 17 to February 15.

"The opportunity is try to work with people and we're here to do that and we can only do that for so long," Spencer said.

Anyone who doesn't pay up will hear from a collection agency after February 15.
