A major CAT-astrophe was averted in Oley Twp., Berks Co., on Tuesday.
A curious little kitten was inside a pipe underneath New Hope Boulevard, near Cedar Crest Lane.
Emergency crews worked for more than an hour before finally coaxing the kitty out.
One alert resident heard the kitten meowing from under the road.
"We couldn't get it out. I did what I thought everybody does: I called the fire department," said Patricia Russell.
The kitten is alight. Russell said she's keeping the kitten but hasn't decided its name yet.
