Robber makes off with drugs from pharmacy
Police hope surveillance video will help them nab a man who robbed a pharmacy of drugs Tuesday morning.
Officers responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. to the CVS store on East High St. in Lower Pottsgrove Twp., Montgomery Co., near Pottstown, for the report of a robbery in progress.
They arrived within a couple minutes of the dispatch, but the robber was already gone, police said.
The store reported that the robber handed the pharmacist and the pharmacy technician a note stating that he was armed and wanted specific narcotics, said police, who noted that the robber postured as if he had a gun in his coat pocket but never showed a weapon.
The employees complied with the robbers' demands and gave him the narcotics, which police declined to identify.
The robber then fled the store with a white CVS pharmacy bag, said police, who added that he was wearing a black, fur-lined hooded coat, red gloves, large framed sunglasses and a short brimmed hat.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Lower Pottsgrove Twp. Police Dept. at 610-326-1508.
