A Berks County man received a jaw-dropping surprise Friday.

An angry alligator was roaming on his property.

The grouchy gator was first spotted in a pond in Rockland Township.

The property's owner actually thought somebody threw a plastic alligator into his pond.

"So I reached for it, so of course then it dived down, and I'm like 'oh my God'," said Bob Hipp.

Hipp and his kids managed to capture the feisty alligator and taped its jaws shut but Hipp says the gator put up a tough fight.

"I'll tell you, that thing, for being that short, it had some power to it. The thing's all muscle," he said.

The alligator has been returned to its owner.
