Police are investigating the report of an armed robbery on the parking lot of a busy shopping center in Berks County.

The holdup happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday in the 3200 block of the North 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township.

The manager was walking across the parking lot with a bag of money to deposit in a nearby bank when he was approached by a masked man or woman with a gun, police said.

The robber, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and pants, got the money and ran off, said police, who didn't have a tally of the stolen loot.

No one was injured.
