Some young bookworms at 10th and Green Elementary School in Reading got a well-deserved pat on the back Friday.

The school's principal, who recently ran a marathon at Walt Disney World in Florida, encouraged her students to become marathon readers, and they took her up on her challenge.

Some of the "all-stars" were recognized during a day of reading-themed activities.
