TAB Industries relocates to business center in Muhlenberg
Company expects to double workforce of 12 employees over next year
A growing manufacturing company has relocated its operations and workforce to Berks County.
TAB Industries has set up shop in the Stone Pointe Business Center, 2525 N. 12th St., Muhlenberg Township, formerly the Lucent Technologies campus, the Greater Reading Economic Partnership announced Tuesday.
"We are thrilled to relocate our operations to greater Reading," said Tom Brizek, president and CEO, Tab Industries LLC. "We are looking forward to our continued growth in our home community."
TAB Industries got its start primarily as a distributor of steel doors and frame systems, with two employees working in a 2,000 square-foot garage in Honey Brook, Chester Co. The company's workforce, now at 12 employees in Berks County, is expected to double over the next year.
TAB Industries has also expanded its lines of business to include warehousing, manufacturing, trucking and the production of the TAB Wrapper Tornado. The patent-pending wrapper, officials said, has reduced TAB's time for packaging and damage claims to almost nothing.
