A heavy cloud of heartbreak hangs over the campus of Kutztown University.
Many are still in the early stages of grieving the tragic death of Seth Fuoti, 21 of Maidencreek Twp., Berks Co.
The Leisure and Sports Management major was killed in a gruesome car accident Wednesday, in Richmond Township.
Some of Seth's classmates and friends says it's still too soon to process the tragedy.
"It's just like reality set in. And the guy that I used to sit next to in class is no longer here," said Inocencio Amaro, Jr., who first met Seth in a cultural anthropology class.
Seth was killed when his car crashed into a tractor trailer that was actually at a complete stop on Route 222 in Richmond Township, investigators said.
That tractor trailer was in a long line of traffic that was backing up due to a red light a mile down the road on 662, authorities explain.
In a cruel coincidence, earlier in the day, 2007 Kutztown graduate Matthew Bortz, was also killed.
Bortz was on a motorcycle and tried to cross the yellow line and illegally pass a vehicle on Park Road, investigators said.
Bortz ran headon into a tractor trailer and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Seth's friend and classmate, Inocencio, said it is tough to lose a loved one during the holiday season.
"My thoughts and my prayers go out to their families. It's terrible it had to happen around the holidays," said Amaro.
Kutztown University plans to hold a vigil for Fuoti Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.
Counselors are being made available to grieving students.
